Based in Dallas, Texas, ProtestHealthCare.org
was started by four members of the Glantz family. Inspired
and angered by the Michael Moore film, Sicko,
we collectively agreed to help ignite a movement for change.
We feel it is time to reorganize and reform our healthcare
system so it benefits all American citizens.
We are currently
operating ProtestHealthCare.org out of our Dallas home.
Why not? What better time to ask
for change than now? We have waited long enough for
our congressmen to fight for change. We have been promised
on many occasions there would be reform to our healthcare
system and nothing has been done about it. Representatives
of our government continue to gain financial wealth
due to insurance and pharmaceutical companies while
healthcare costs continue to spiral out of control.
If we don’t stand up now, who will?
No. We are just a passionate family
wanting to make a difference by helping the general
public gain access to resources and information about
how we can change our healthcare system in America.
We encourage every visitor to sign the petition and
to raise awareness by fowarding our web site link to
friends and family. All printed materials, including
this web site, are funded and operated by the Glantz
family.
We support a Single-Payer
National Health Insurance. We endorse H.R.
676.
1. Write to your state congressmen
by emailing our letter
for change.
2. Sign
the petition.
3. Pass out flyers
and get the word out.
4. Show your support by placing our logo on your web
site.
5. Attend a protest or healthcare event.

SiCKO FAMILY SEEKS 10,000 TO SIGN
HEALTHCARE REFORM PETITION
Don’t Get Sick. Get Involved. Healthcare should
not be a privilege. It should be a right. DALLAS,
TEXAS – August 17, 2007 – ProtestHealthcare.org,
a small grassroots organization founded by the Glantz
family, announced they are seeking over 10,000 people
to sign their healthcare reform petition. They plan to
submit numerous letters to members of Congress by the
end of September 2007, in order to further ignite interest
and encourage representatives to take a stand for the
people by endorsing H.R. 676.
ProtestHealthcare.org was launched just one day after
the founders were inspired and angered by the Michael
Moore film, SiCKO. Receiving over 4,000 visitors to their
Web site, with minimal exposure, the Glantz family is
doing whatever they can to help make change happen. They
have partnered with several nationally recognized health-related
organizations, which include National Nurses Organizing
Committee and The DFW Metro Committee; Physicians for
National Health Program; California Nurses Associations;
Jobs with Justice; Texas Alliance for Retired Americans;
and Healthcare-NOW. “We can’t believe
the volume of e-mails and support we have received from
all over the United States. When launching our site we
thought we’d be lucky to get 25 petitions signed,”
said John Glantz, co-founder of ProtestHealthcare.org.
“We are just an ordinary family who wanted to do
something. We would have never guessed there were thousands
of families who want our healthcare system to change and
want it changed now!”
ProtestHealthcare.org believes that every citizen should
have an equal opportunity to healthcare, without the limitations
of pre-existing conditions or financial gain by insurance
and pharmaceutical companies. The organization’s
goal is to end selective healthcare so that Americans
will never be denied coverage based on previous medical
conditions or on their financial status. They aim to increase
awareness of this problem so that every American has access
to proper healthcare.
ProtestHealthcare.org endorses H.R. 676, which gives citizens
access to affordable quality healthcare – including
doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, mental health
services, nursing home care, rehab, home care, eye care,
and dental care. Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30), Shelia
Jackson-Lee (TX-18), and Al Green (TX-9) are the only
three representatives in Texas who have endorsed H.R.
676.
The Glantz family has published a Web site, where visitors
are encouraged to get involved by downloading a letter
to send to their Congressmen, access resources about the
healthcare industry, and sign a petition. For more information,
